The beauty industry's technology toolkit will keep gains going despite the rise of the Delta variant. Virtual try-on, online shopping, curbside pickup, even delivery, have all helped the US beauty industry make a remarkable comeback from a difficult pandemic-riddled 2020.
According to NPD, prestige beauty sales soared in the first half, with fragrance sales leading the way, up 82%. Gains for other sectors were nearly as impressive: makeup sales rose 22%, skin care sales increased 21% and hair care sales jumped 59%.
