Caracappa of Estée Lauder Passes at 59

Longtime company leader excelled in packaging arena
Roger Caracappa, employed by Estée Lauder Cosmetics for over 36 years, died on July 20 at the age of 59. In 2002, he was named the Packaging Executive of the Year by Health & Beauty America and was inducted into the New Jersey Packaging Executive Hall of fame in 2004. Mr. Caracappa was said to be a proponent of education—as seen by his establishment of the Estée Lauder Packaging University and involvement with the Fashion Institute of Technology.
His wife, Elizabeth Park Caracappa, who is executive vice president of global marketing and general manager of Elizabeth Arden U.S.; his children, Roger, Adam and David Caracappa and Michael and Lindsay Park; as well as his mother, Theresa Caracappa and his brother, Victor Caracappa, survive Mr. Caracappa.
