LMR Adds On to Its ISO Certification

2009-10-26 | 10:34

Company owned by IFF is now ISO 14001.

International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF) has announced that LMR (previously Laboratoire Monique Rémy), which was acquired by IFF in 2000, has received the ISO 14001 certification. Developed by the International Organization for Standardization, the ISO 14001 certification is an international standard relating to the effectiveness of environmental management systems in minimizing a company’s ecological footprint, that is, the negative effect their operations have on the environment.

LMR, located in Grasse, France, has long been a recognized in the creation, development and delivery of natural raw materials for use in perfumery. It had already earned an ISO 9002 products certification and an ISO 9001 service certification. Received on Sept. 4, LMR’s ISO 14001 certification is a manifestation of its desire to perpetuate its environmentally-responsible commitment over the long term, said the company.

This action is paired with the implementation of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and HACCP, procedures specific to the food industry. This enables LMR to add many natural ingredients now available for food flavors to its catalogs.
