We are embarking on a powerful shift: To change the way the world thinks about beauty. Orveon Global is a collective of premium and prestige beauty brands committed to stark honesty, co-creation and making a sustainable cultural impact. Our collective consists of the following leading clean beauty brands: Bare Minerals, Buxom, and Laura Mercier. #FaceForwardTogether and change beauty for the better with us.
Sales have been stable at Orveon Global. Bigger news is that it started off 2024 with new leadership. The beauty company hired Neela Montgomery as its new CEO. Montgomery joined Orveon as a seasoned global CEO who has led and transformed consumer businesses across the US, Europe and Asia including CVS Health, Crate & Barrel Holdings, Otto Group and Tesco PLC. Most recently, she served as a board partner at Greycroft, a venture capital firm. With nearly two decades of experience, she is leader of consumer brands with a record of driving successful digital transformations, global expansion and fostering diverse and inclusive company cultures.
“Neela is a highly accomplished leader in high-growth, vibrant consumer businesses and we are thrilled to welcome her as CEO of Orveon,” said Tricia Glynn, chair of the board at Orveon and managing partner at Advent International. “Orveon has established a strong foundation in its two years since launch and Neela is the ideal executive for this next phase of growth. Her special mix of global experience, operational acumen and record of growing consumer brands will position the business for long-term success.”
In other news, the Laura Mercier is expanding its reach with new projects in the Metaverse and a retail presence in Mumbai, India.
“It’s a destination where beauty enthusiasts can explore, experiment and indulge in the art of makeup,” said Marco Ficarelli, chief revenue officer, Laura Mercier Cosmetics. “With a growing demand for premium cosmetics and passionate beauty consumers who are influenced by global beauty trends and self-care, we are excited to bring Laura Mercier’s innovative and high-quality products that will empower Indian consumers and enhance their self-expression.”
Sales: $599 million
Orveon is doing well with its core beauty brands Buxom, BareMinerals and Laura Mercier, but the company wants an even bigger presence in beauty. Orveon recently tapped Christina Hull as its new chief transformation officer. With this appointment, Orveon is looking to expand its mergers and acquisitions. Hull joins the Happi Top 50 company from GF Capital.
In her role, Hull will focus on accelerating organization performance through creation, communication and execution of strategic initiatives, including leading M&A. As a member of the Orveon executive committee, she will partner with “Orveoners” throughout the collective to focus on achieving revenue and EBITDA targets with particular attention to delivery of Orveon’s value creation plans, according to the company.
“With the arrival of Christina, Orveon Excom is now completed, reaching a unique perfect parity between women and men,” said Pascal Houdayer, CEO of Orveon Global. “I am absolutely delighted to have Christina be a valuable addition to our talented Orveon Executive Committee, as we continue our journey towards becoming the Sustainable Face Care Expert.”
In other news, Orveon’s beauty brands are going big in the Metaverse. In early 2023, Laura Mercier, founded by global makeup artist Laura Mercier, made its beauty debut into the Metaverse. The brand partnered with industry-leading experiential e-commerce platform Obsess to launch its first virtual store, World of Beauty. According to the company, the virtual world is the first step for the brand to enter a virtually experiential e-commerce presence, offering an “immersive and interactive online shopping experience.”
Sales: $571 million
Orveon may be new to the beauty world, but it is home to well-known brands—Buxom, BareMinerals and Laura Mercier. This new company was formed when private equity firm Advent International acquired the three beauty brands from Shiseido Americas Corporation. That deal closed on Dec. 6, 2021. Pascal Houdayer was hired as chief executive officer.
In March, the company announced plans to open an additional corporate office in Columbus, OH.
“As Orveon scales its operations in the US, we look forward to helping to grow the booming ecosystem of global companies in Columbus,” Houdayer said when the corporate space expansion plans were revealed.
