Skin care and nutrition comprise the majority of Arbonne’s sales, but this California-based, privately-owned direct seller also says it has  “great strength in numbers in our hair care, body care and makeup categories.”

Arbonne’s RE9 Advanced Cellular Renewal Masque—which offers gentle cellular exfoliation to improve skin tone and texture, minimize the appearance of pores, and provide skin with an immediate, radiant glow—was named a 2013 TotalBeauty.com Awards Reader’s Choice winner in the mask category.

CEO Kay Napier has earned accolades in the last year too, including Chapman University Entrepreneur of the Year. Prior to joining Arbonne in 2009, Napier had been senior VP of marketing at McDonald’s Corporation and also held posts at Procter & Gamble, where she rose to vice president and general manager of the company’s North American pharmaceutical business and the corporate women’s health platform.

On the personnel front, recent hires include Heather Chastain to the post of senior VP and chief sales officer and Michael D’Arminio, who was named senior VP and chief creative officer.

In addition to launching the Arbonne Charitable Foundation last April, Arbonne made charitable donations totaling more than $200,000 in retail value of products to support those in need during 2012.

For example, in 2012, after Hurricane Sandy devastated the Rockaway section of Queens, NY, Arbonne donated hundreds of warm robes and bottles of bath gel to the Action Center for Education & Community Development.

In addition, Arbonne donated 4,800 products, with a retail value of more than $175,000, to The Today Show Gift Drive, which distributed the wares to 15 different non-profit organizations.
