Sales: $526 million (estimated)
Six-year-old Nerium International is another direct sales company that is expanding at a rapid rate. During the past year, the company has established businesses in Hong Kong and Australia and Colombia, where, according to company executives, it passed $1 million in sales during its first month of operation.
Just last month the company announced that it had cracked the Direct Selling Association’s Top 20 companies list for the second year in a row.
“Since we opened our door for business just shy of six years ago, we have focused on providing first-of-kind, science-based skin care and wellness products and groundbreaking business opportunities,” said Nerium International president Deborah K. Heisz. “It is an honor to be recognized among many long-established companies in our industry for the second consecutive year, and it reminds us to continue to stay committed to our mission of ‘making people better,’ and our loving, caring, sharing philosophy.”

Sales: $516 million.
Nerium International’s anti-aging message isn’t getting old with consumers. The company’s sales rose more than 25% last year…that’s after doubling in 2014, according to company executives.
The company’s facial skin care products contain NAE-8, an extract based on nerium oleander and aloe vera plants that is said to be a powerful antioxidant and boosts the cell renewal process. Another uniquely-Nerium ingredient is EHT, a mixture of bioactive molecules isolated from coffee, which is said to promote better cognitive function and memory.
Finally, new SIG-1191 acts as a powerful antioxidant and skin hydrator. The patent-pending molecule was developed by Princeton University biochemist Dr. Jeffry Stock and the team at Signum Biosciences. It is the key ingredient in Nerium’s new Age-Defying Eye Serum.
SIG-1191 was developed specifically to target the signs of aging around the eyes, as well as its underlying causes. According to Nerium, the new formula delivers immediate reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; supports the skin’s natural structure; fights the appearance of dark circles, puffiness and lines and wrinkles; matches the skin’s natural pH level, ensuring optimal skin health; and firms and brightens the appearance of the eye area.
Sales: $403 million.
Nerium’s annual revenues came in at $403 million in 2014, up 119% over the year before. That leap landed the firm on Direct Selling News’ $100 million growth club list, and helped fuel its growing philanthropic endeavors. Since 2012, Nerium has contributed more than $2 million to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
At its annual national conference in Philadelphia in June, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America named Nerium as its 2015 President’s Award recipient—its highest corporate honor.
This year, Nerium launched a new charitable organization called the Nerium Ripple Foundation, which encourages the firm’s “independent brand partners” to live the company’s core value of “servant leadership” and the vision of “Making People Better” by making positive efforts —or ripples—throughout the world. The Nerium Ripple Foundation will work exclusively with nonprofit partners selected for each country where Nerium International does business.
Last month, Nerium’s Optimera Formula line of products became available for sale in South Korea through independent brand partners and online. The company entered the Canadian and Mexican markets during 2014.
The Optimera Formula features SIG-1273, billed as a new, breakthrough anti-aging ingredient created by Princeton University biochemist Dr. Jeffry B. Stock after 20 years of biomedical research. SIG-1273 is a dual-action, patented molecule specifically designed to provide superior anti-aging benefits as it addresses the signs of aging and its causes and acts as a powerful antioxidant to target free-radical damage while mimicking the skin’s natural age-fighting mechanism.

Sales: $207 million.
A new listing in Happi’s Top 50, Nerium International is a direct sales skin care marketer on the rise. Since its August 2011 debut in the US, Nerium has reached record-breaking sales and earned industry accolades while building millions of consumer fans along the way, said the company. Led by an executive team with more than 200 years of collective industry experience, Nerium International is committed to developing and distributing skincare products that are rooted in real science, produce real results, and improve consumers’ lives.
Although it is just six months into 2014, this year is proving to be a successful year for Nerium International. Accomplishments included the rollout of a new body contouring cream proven to reduce the appearance of cellulite and to help smooth, tighten and firm loose skin while restoring the appearance of youthful contour, tone and texture; as well as the development and release of Optimera Night and Day Creams, billed as the only line of skin care products on the market containing the patent-pending SAL-14 extract. With the launch of Optimera, Nerium began its international expansion in Ontario and British Columbia, Canada this past April.
Ranked No. 54 on Direct Selling News’ Global Top 100 List Recognized for the second year in a row on Direct Selling News’ Global Top 100 List, Nerium jumped from No. 86 to No. 54 on the list in just one year.
In charitable efforts, Nerium raised more than $500,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters in 2013.
Due to the company’s focus on community involvement, Big Brothers Big Sisters awarded Nerium International with the Community Impact Award in 2013, which annually recognizes an organization with the greatest impact on a grassroots level. With a goal of impacting as many children’s lives as possible and becoming the largest corporate sponsor, Nerium set a lofty goal of raising $1 million for Big Brothers Big Sisters in 2014. As of June 1, 2014, $455,000 has been raised.
According to the company, there are plans for additional products, new executive team leaders and continued international expansion this year.
