Sales: $860 million (estimated) for candle and home fragrance products. Corporate sales: $16 billion.

Yankee Candle’s sales rose an estimated 2% last year. In December, Jarden and Newell Rubbermaid announced an agreement to combine the two companies and create a $16 billion consumer goods company called Newell Brands. The deal closed earlier this year. It’s all about enhancing scale, in key geographies, in key channels and with key retailers, according to company executives. Yankee Candle has been folded into the branded consumables business of Newell Brands, a unit that includes such well-known names as Ball food preservation products, Pine Mountain fire logs and First Alert smoke alarms.
