Broader distribution is part of the brand's strategy to expand consumer touch points.

Sekkisei, Japan’s leading herbal skincare brand, launched an online storefront in Amazon’s US Store. The brand is said to combine ancient Japanese herbal remedies and practices with modern science and technology. According to Kosé, the move to broader US distribution is part of Sekkisei’s strategy to expand consumer touch points. The products meet the needs of the Amazon customer who is very interested in advanced skincare that unleashes powerful benefits to the skin. Bestsellers include Sekkisei Herbal Gel as well as Sekkisei Lotion and Emulsion. “We are thrilled to bring Sekkisei skincare products to even more consumers across the US,” says Sharon del Valle, general manager, Kosé America. “The brand is gaining a great deal of momentum in the US beauty market segment. Amazon will help accelerate the growth even more with its broad reach and appeal. Amazon is a natural fit for the brand which speaks to customers of all ages and genders who are focused on healthy skin. Sekkisei formulas are innovative and effective using the highest quality Asian botanicals with incredible textures.” The storefront will also carry the Clear Wellness skincare line that is clean and sustainable to help skin thrive in its natural, healthiest state and help strengthen the skin barrier. The unique ingredient, Itowa, works with the skin’s microbiome to firm, smooth and boost ceramides for a healthy, radiant complexion, according to Kosé. The line is free of 17+ ingredients including phthalates, sulfates, parabens, oxybenzone, formaldehyde and microplastic beads. The products are also suitable for sensitive skin with no mineral oil, essential oils, alcohol or silicones as well as allergy-tested and fragrance-free. The packaging is intentionally minimalist as it is recyclable, refillable and biodegradeable with an embossed logo with no ink.
