Quest International: Isabelle Parize, group vice president, fragrances, has named Demi Thoman to the new post of vice president, consumer fragrance, Americas. In his new post, Mr. Thoman will also be responsible for the Latin American regions, including Brazil. He will continue to report to Ms. Parize. Mr. Thoman joined Quest in 1989 and led the company in the development of its business in North America. Since 1992 he has been president of the North American fragrances division. Paul Austin has been named vice president, global fine fragrance. He has worked for Quest for 15 years. James McCarthy, formerly vice president of finance at Quest, was appointed vice president, consumer fragrances, Europe, Middle East and Africa, and will also be responsible for Quest’s fragrance ingredient business globally. Solvay Chemicals, Inc: James Daly has been named vice president, peroxygens. Mr. Daly joined Solvay in 1990, and has held a series of increasingly responsible technical and manufacturing positions, making significant contributions to the development of Solvay’s peroxygens manufacturing capability. Ajinomoto USA, Inc: Koichiro Sagawa has been named director of the specialty chemicals division. He comes to the U.S. after working as a general manager in Ajinomoto Co.’s cosmetic laboratory in Kawasaki, Japan. IFF: Richard Goldstein, chairman and chief executive officer since 2000, will retire in May after the company’s annual meeting. Prior to his tenure at IFF, Mr. Goldstein was president and chief executive officer of Unilever U.S. Presperse, Inc: Olga Voron has been appointed account manager in the sales department and will be handling accounts in the northeast. Finetex, Inc: Marta Le Fave has been appointed key account manager. She will have responsibility for account growth in the eastern region. Revlon, Inc: Thomas McGuire, chief financial officer and executive vice president, and David Kennedy, president of international and executive vice president, will rotate their jobs and responsibilities. According to the company, Revlon will gain from an exchange of ideas, experiences and skills. Ross Organic Specialty Sales, Inc: Eric Chillseyzn has been hired as technical sales representative. He previously worked at OPI Products and Bocchi Laboratories as an R&D chemist. Ali B. Witwit has also been named technical sales representative. Prior to joining Ross, he worked at Thibiant International as an R&D chemist. Fitz Chem Corp.: Scott Hendrickson has been named to the new position of vice president of sales and marketing. He will be responsible for developing strategies and execution plans that will result in profitable growth. Church & Dwight Co: Bruce F. Fleming has been named chief marketing officer. In the newly created position, Mr. Fleming will oversee the marketing of brands such as Arm & Hammer, Trojan, First Response and Xtra. Additionally, he will have responsibility for the company’s advertising and market research functions.
