Beach House Adds a Venture Unit

Beach House Group, that eclectic group of entrepreneurs, which includes a super model, a Super Bowl hero and a former hairdryer executive, is expanding.

The Los Angeles-based brand incubator was cofounded by snowboarding executive Shaun Neff and fomer Conair executive PJ Brice in 2018. Since its debut, the company has backed brands like Pattern with Tracee Ellis Ross, Moon Oral Beauty with Kendall Jenner and Odell Beckham Jr. and Florence By Mills with Millie Bobby Brown.

Its latest venture is Beach House Ventures. But unlike traditional venture funds, which make small, minority investments and maintain a hands-off approach, Beach House Ventures will make in most cases majority investments and plans to be very hands-on. Investments are expected to on average range between $2 million and $10 million per brand.

What categories excite the BHV brass? Anything that can find a home in a Sephora or Ulta, according to Neff and Brice. Some products of interest include sunless tanners and clinical skincare.
