Garren – celebrity hairstylist and cofounder of R+Co and R+Co Bleu – was honored at the annual Met Artists dinner with the Icon Award.

 

For five decades, Garren has helped transform the industry with clientele including Victoria Beckham, Naomi Campbell, Karlie Kloss, Audrey Hepburn, Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista, to name a few. He has served as one of the world’s most culturally-impactful hairstylists, trusted by the fashion industry's leading photographers, designers and celebrities to create their “trademark transformations.”

 

“It’s wonderful, I’m very happy about this honor,” said Garren. “I have been reflecting, and have all of these feelings that bring back the journey I went on, and so many great memories along the way. I have to thank everyone I worked with, the R+Co team, my mentors – Polly Mellen, Irving Penn, Steven Meisel, Jade Hobson – there are so many of them.”

In 2014, Garren used his expertise to launch R+Co with cofounders Howard McLaren and Thom Priano. Led by a collective of top editorial stylists, R+Co is designed around the concept that collaboration is critical to creating the best products that the industry offers. Now, celebrating its 10th anniversary, R+Co continues to grow.
