RIFM President Participates in American Chemical Society Green Chemistry Institute’s 28th Annual Conference

Dr. Api shared details of RIFM’s “Low Exposure Paper” during a session on advancing sustainable innovation though AI-enabled chemistry.

Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM) President Anne Marie Api, PhD, fellow ATS, participated in the American Chemical Society Green Chemistry Institute’s 28th Annual Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference, held in Atlanta, GA on June 5.

Dr. Api shared details of RIFM’s “Low Exposure Paper” during today’s Advancing Sustainable Innovation in Personal Care and Household Products through AI-Enabled Chemistry session.

This session explored artificial intelligence’s role in revolutionizing household and commercial products industries. It also provided a forum to identify opportunities for leveraging AI to stimulate green chemistry and sustainability improvements, as well as spark dialog around opportunities to use AI to address unmet industry needs.

“The understanding of real-world exposure to fragrances is critical to Green Chemistry goals and specifically to the personal care and household products industries,” Dr. Api explained. “I’m excited to share RIFM’s safe-use exposure science and to learn from those working at the intersection of Green Chemistry and AI.”

The session is organized by Eva Thompson of The Estée Lauder Companies and Molly Blessing and Dr. Steven Bennett of the Household & Commercial Products Association.
