US Patent No. 12,016,939 B2 (Steven M. Hernandez), Topix Pharamceuticals, North Amityville, NY, patented a method for therapeutic treatment of a dermatological condition. It entails topically applying to skin a formulation comprised of a skin treatment active agent comprising retinol and an activation solvent system comprising isopentyldiol, ethoxydiglycol, dimethyl isosorbide, and a non-ionic surfactant. The topical formulation further comprises retinol, ethoxydiglycol, isopentyldiol, dimethylisorbide, and of a non-ionic surfactant selected from polysorbate 80, polysorbate 20, or a combination thereof.
