MAC Celebrates National Lipstick Day

Special promotion offers 30% off online plus a free lipstick.

Even though pouts have been concealed by masks this summer, lipstick is still a go-to beauty perfector in most makeup bags. It’s an essential item to perk up the face for that socially-distant gathering or Zoom call. And leading makeup brand MAC Cosmetics knows its fans still must have that fresh tube on hand, especially for National Lipstick Day on July 29.

MAC Cosmetics is offering a free full-sized lipstick (valued at $19) with any $30 online purchase. Customers have the choice of three best-selling shades. At checkout, choose from Amplified Lipstick in Dubonnet (a creamy deep claret) or Matte Lipstick in Marrakesh (a matte orange-brown) or Lady Danger (a matte coral-red. No offer code needed. The free lipstick offered kicked off on July 25 and runs through National Lipstick Day on July 29.

And, with over 200 shades in 20 feels and finishes, MAC Cosmetics couldn’t limit National Lipstick Day to just 24 hours! For the entire month of July, the brand is offering 30% off Lustre Lipstick that also includes a free gift, according to the company.

MAC Cosmetics also made Happi headlines last month with a new innovation project, as reported here. In the spring, it teamed up with America’s favorite doll, Barbie, for a lipstick hue.

And in other MAC news, the cosmetics maker is featured in the Asos US “Face + Body” roster for the American market. The brand is already part of the online retailer's beauty assortment for other countries, including the UK, France, Italy, Germany and the United Arab Emirates, among others. The first range available online will showcase 474 options, including different colorways, with new drops monthly. Hero products will comprise the brand’s Prep + Prime Fix+ spray, the Studio Fix 24-Hour Smooth Wear concealer, the In Extreme Dimension mascara, the Matte lipsticks and Lipglass glosses as well as eyeshadow palettes.

“Asos x MAC is so right and so now. Both brands align in bringing quality, creativity and self-expression to fashion and beauty,” MAC Cosmetics' Senior North America Artist Fatima Thomas told WWD. “Having an artistry-driven cosmetic brand like MAC on the Asos platform allows consumers the convenience and imagination to do amazing self-styling from head-to-toe.”

To mark the US debut, MAC Cosmetics and Asos also collaborated on a dedicated campaign featuring street-cast models hailing from different parts of the country.
